Anglican Shop Window

Bagshaw, dear Bagshaw
Old Fat Furry Angstshaw
Wake up and look at this thing that I bring
Wake up, be bright, be golden and light
Bagshaw, oh hear what I sing.

There's Anthea Turner, perfect housewife, rearranging the Anglican hierarchy, putting in the shop window the arrangement of Primates and Conferences, all of which are in a tremendous muddle, and perhaps the owners will come and collect them. Nothing is sold in the shop, but Anthea suspects that Rowanov is a shop owner who really doesn't have a sales policy except that he should run the shop.

And goodness, Anthea Turner and dear old Bagshaw are in a funny kind of agreement yet disagreement. For Bagshaw, the messy shop window is what Anglicanism was like once, and should be again, without the new shopkeeper's influence, but for Anthea it surely should be a cleaner, neater, arrangement where even the missing toys might turn up. Indeed these two, the old cloth cat and perfect housewife, could even be in a different shop.

She can go to a frozen foods shop and stock up her freezer of identikit products, while he can get the old fixtures and fittings lovingly polished and where the odd customer for nothing rings the bell as the shop door opens.

Thanks to Augustus Barclay Yaffle for the information.
